Competency Assessment - Definition

Competency assessment is the process of collecting and evaluating evidence to determine whether a person is competent against assessment standards.

A competency assessment must always be conducted by a certified Competence Assessor to ensure it is Valid, Authentic, Reliable, Current, and Sufficient and compliance with organisational requirements.

In a competency assessment, everyone performing the same job is measured using the same assessment criteria and methodology, ensuring consistency, transparency, fairness and objective evaluation across the organisation.
